Finding Peace
The Christmas season is often described as the most wonderful time of the year. Yet, for many, it’s also one of the busiest. Between shopping, decorating, hosting, and attending events, the days can feel more like a blur than a celebration. But what if we slowed down long enough to embrace the deeper meaning of the season?
At its core, Christmas is a story of peace. Over 2,000 years ago, angels proclaimed, “Peace on earth, goodwill toward men.” This message wasn’t just for shepherds on a hillside; it’s for us today. Amid the noise and distractions of modern life, the peace of Christmas is still available—if we pause long enough to receive it.
One way to find that peace is by shifting our focus from ourselves to others. When we turn our attention to giving—whether through acts of kindness, words of encouragement, or simply being present—we discover that peace is less about what we gain and more about what we give. The joy of seeing someone smile because of a thoughtful gesture or the warmth of a heartfelt “thank you” reminds us of the true spirit of the season.
This Christmas, let’s take the time to give—not out of obligation, but out of love. As we do, may we find that in serving others, we experience the peace and joy that have been waiting for us all along.
